What is the best Hallmark Channel series of all time?

     If you'll recall, last year  in honor of March Madness, I asked fans to vote for their favorite movie from the "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" series.  Well, this year, I am continuing this tradition by asking fans to vote for their favorite "Hallmark Channel" series.  Every week starting this week, I will post a poll on my Twitter/X page (x.com/wesths05) asking fans to vote for their favorite Hallmark Channel series.  Just as I did with my "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" poll last year, the series will be ranked and paired based on their ratings on the Internet Movie Database, or IMDb.  Here is how I am currently planning this tournament to go.


Author's Note: While "When Hope Calls" is currently airing on Great American Family, it did begin as a Hallmark series and is a spinoff of an ongoing Hallmark series ("When Calls The Heart"), which is why it is included.


First Round-March 21-27

# 8 Cedar Cove vs # 9 Ride

# 7 Good Witch vs # 10 The Chicken Sisters


Quarterfinals-March 28-April 3

# 1 The Way Home vs. 8-9 winner

# 4 When Hope Calls vs. # 5 Mistletoe Murders

# 3 Signed, Sealed, Delivered vs. # 6 Chesapeake Shores


Semifinals-April 4-10

1-8-9 survivor vs 4-5 winner

2-7-10 survivor vs 3-6 winner


Finals-April 11-17

First Semifinal Winner vs. Second Semifinal Winner


The winning series will be announced on April l8.


First Round Results

Unfortunately, only one person voted in the first round, with # 7 "Good Witch" defeating # 10 "The Chicken Sisters" 1-0. Since nobody voted in the 8 vs. 9 poll, "Cedar Cove" will automatically advance by virtue of being the higher seed. The quarterfinal polls will be posted on my Twitter/X page (x.com/wesths05) today. 


Quarterfinal Results

The Way Home vs. Cedar Cove did not receive any votes. The Way Home will automatically advance by virtue of being the higher seed. The other three polls (When Hope Calls vs. Mistletoe Murders, When Calls The Heart vs. Good Witch, and Signed, Sealed, Delivered vs. Chesapeake Shores) received one vote each, with "When Hope Calls", "Good Witch" and "Chesapeake Shores" advancing to the semifinals as well. Both semifinal polls (The Way Home vs. When Hope Calls and Good Witch vs. Chesapeake Shores) are currently posted on my Twitter/X page (x.com/wesths05). You can vote in both polls up until next Saturday April 11.

Both "The Way Home" and "Chesapeake Shores" received a single vote in their respective polls vs. zero for their respective opponents ("When Hope Calls" and "Good Witch"), meaning those two series have advanced to the finals. You can vote in the final poll on my Twitter/X page (x.com/wesths05). Polling is open until next Saturday, April 18.

Addressing Hallmark Channel's "Blind" Spot

 Yesterday, it was announced that Sarah Drew ("Christmas In Vienna", "One Summer") would be portraying the titular character in an upcoming Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film "Guiding Emily". The movie, which is set to premiere on Friday September 8 at 9/8 Central, revolves around the titular Emily, who becomes blind following a rock-climbing accident. While Hallmark Channel has made tremendous strides when it comes to representation in the disabled community (For example, "The Christmas Bow" features a disabled character named Tess, played by real life Charcot-Marie-Tooth patient Joy Perry, and movies like "Our Christmas Journey" and "Color My World With Love" feature autistic actors and actors with Down Syndrome in prominent roles), one area that the network is still lagging behind in when it comes to authentic representation in the disabled community is blind or visually impaired actors.  Today, October 12, marks the 10th anniversary of when the first "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" movie (simply titled "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" but also known by the alternate title "Second Chances") premiered on Hallmark Channel. To celebrate the milestone, I have decided to rank every episode and movie in the series using my unique rating system that multiplies each episode and/or movie's IMDB rating by its viewers per one million.  The ratings are as follows. Out of respect for both the character and their actress, this article will refer to K.C. using the terms "They/Them". "The Way Home"-Jacob's disappearance and the Stable Time Loop Theory

       Hello. First, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wesley Eversole. I have been an avid watcher of Hallmark Channel for about four years now and have watched almost all of their series, including their most recent series, "The Way Home", which premiered on January 15. If you are not familiar with the series, let me give you a basic rundown on the premise.     The series basically revolves around the main  character, Alice Dhawan (played by Sadie Laflamme-Snow) discovering that she has the ability to travel through time and jumping into a pond out in the woods behind her maternal grandmother, Del Landry's (Andie McDowell) family farm.        On Saturday June 17, 2023, I had the privilege of attending a screening of "Little Town", an independent film directed by Dani Menkin and starring Jason Paul Field, Crystal St. John and Grant Stevens. The movie follows Jason ( Field), his son Tommy (Stevens) and their new friend Lauren (St. John) as they make the journey to the titular location of Little Town.     When the movie begins, Jason is an aspiring stand-up comic who has been living alone with his son Tommy ever since his wife passed away an  unspecified time ago.
