Questions Answered On Penultimate Season Three Episode of "Only Murders In The Building"

Author's Note: The following article contains spoilers for "Only Murders In The Building". Please do not read any further if you have not seen the first nine episodes of Season Three.

The penultimate Season Three episode of "Only Murders In The Building", titled "Thirty", premiered on Hulu this morning at 12:00 midnight ET. During this episode, we were provided the answers to several questions that fans have been asking this season. In this article, I will reveal the answers to these questions.

1. Who was Ben Glenroy talking to in Tobert's video?

In the third episode of Season Three ("Grab Your Hankies"), Robert (Jesse Williams) showed Mabel (Selena Gomez) a video of Ben Glenroy addressing an unseen figure, telling them that they are his weakness and that they are going to ruin him. Six episodes later, Mabel finally realizes who, or rather what, Ben was talking to after seeing Oliver (Martin Short) address a tub of dip in a similar manner-Ben wasn't talking to a person but a cookie-possibly the same cookie that was used in the first murder attempt on him.

2. Who wrote "Fucking Pig" on Ben's dressing room mirror?

In the fourth episode of Season Three ("The White Room"), the trio discover that somebody had apparently written the words "Fucking Pig" with a crudely drawn picture of a pig on Ben's dressing room mirror in lipstick. While it is later revealed that the lipstick belonged to Charles' (Steve Martin) now ex-fiance Joy (Andrea Martin) and that Loretta (Meryl Streep) had previously called Ben a "fucking pig", neither one wrote the message on the mirror-Ben wrote it himself after eating the cookie mentioned in the first question.

3. Who is Mabel getting married to in that wedding dress?

When Hulu first released the preview for Season Three back in July, fans noticed that one of the scenes showed Mabel in a wedding dress and began to speculate who she was going to marry. As it turns out, she wasn't actually getting married at all-the wedding dress actually belonged to Joy and Mabel was only wearing it so she, Charles and Oliver could sneak into Loretta's arraignment and try to get to her to recant her confession to Ben's murder since the person she was trying to protect with her confession (her son Dickie, Ben's adopted brother) is probably not the actual murderer.

4. What were the shredded pieces of paper that Mabel and Howard found in K.T.'s office?

In last week's episode ("SitzProbe), Mabel and Howard (Michael Cyril Creighton) find the shredded remains of a paper that somebody that attempted to destroy the night of Ben's first murder attempt. In this week's episode, we learn that the paper was actually a copy of a review that was written by the critic Maxine (Noma Dumezweni) in which she claimed that Ben's acting was as "wooden as the lighthouse". The trio realizes that Donna (Linda Emond), the show's producer, had used those exact same words in the previous episode and suspect that she used her connections in the media to get an early copy of Maxine's review, then after reading the review and wanting to protect her son Cliff (Wesley Taylor) from his first Broadway production becoming a failure, decided to murder Cliff by putting rat poison on a cookie she had left for him (the same cookie that Ben was addressing in Tobert's video) then pushed him down the Arconia's elevator shaft when her first murder attempt failed.

So there you have it. Is Donna actually the killer? We'll find out for certain when the Season Three finale, titled "Opening Night", premieres next Tuesday October 3 at 12:00 midnight ET on Hulu.
