Questions answered on "The Way Home" Season 1 Finale

 Tonight, Hallmark Channel aired the Season 1 finale of its new hit series "The Way Home". During the episode, titled "Not All Who Wander Are Lost", several questions that were brought up throughout the series were finally answered. I will attempt to go through each question in the order that it was answered in this episode, with the episodes it was previously brought up in listed in parentheses.

Q-How did Colton die? (Technically, this question was answered in the last episode but since it was shown in the recap prior to tonight's episode, I'll still list it here) ("Mothers And Daughters")

A-Kat went back in time to try and prevent his death and Alice went after her. During the climax of the episode, Alice and Kat both ran out into the middle of the street to try and stop Colton from crashing his truck. This caused Colton to swerve his truck to avoid hitting them, which resulted in the crash that killed him 

Q-Who was the woman that Del saw crying at Colton's funeral? ("Lovefool")

A-It was Kat. She and Alice went back in time to attend Colton's funeral after they inadvertently caused his death.

Q-Who mailed Del's letter to Kat? ("Mothers And Daughters")

A-It was Alice. She was trying to go back to the year 2000 in order to say goodbye to teenage Kat but ended up going back to just before she and her mom moved back to Port Haven. She found her grandmother's letter and decided to mail it herself.

Q-How did Jacob disappear? ("Mothers And Daughters", "Scar Tissue", "Building A Mystery")

A-He followed the family's dog, Finn, into the pond and ended up traveling back in time to 1814.

Q-Who was the woman being chased at the beginning of the series?

A-It was Kat. While the exact details are still unclear, it can probably safely be assumed that Kat used the pond to travel back to 1814 to rescue Jacob, only to be chased back into the pond by a group of angry villagers who accuse her of being a witch. The episode, and by extension the season, ends with Kat diving back into the pond, presumably to return back to her own time, and promising to return for Jacob someday.
