My Thoughts On "Branching Out"

Image
Last night, Hallmark Channel premiered the final movie in its 2024 "Spring Into Love" lineup, "Branching Out". The movie revolves around a single mother, Amelia (Sarah Drew) who attempts to track down her daughter Ruby's (Cora Bella) biological father T.J. (Juan Pablo Di Pace) after she begins inquiring about him. Ruby was conceived via IVF, or in vitro fertilization, so her mother is the only family she has ever really known. While I thought that Hallmark Channel did a good job of addressing the topic of IVF, I do have some questions about the movie that I would like to address below. 1. Is Ruby old enough to understand what IVF is? The first time we actually see Ruby mention IVF is when she asks her teacher Miss Weaver (Nikki SooHoo) if she knows what it is. Now Ruby is shown to be exceptionally intelligent for someone her age (9), and her mother might have told her about it early on in her life, but I still wonder whether a nine year old child would ful

Hallmark Channel Announces Sequel To "Three Wise Men And A Baby"

Today, Hallmark Channel announced that a sequel to its hit 2022 Countdown To Christmas movie, "Three Wise Men And A Baby", will be airing sometime later this year as part of its 2024 "Countdown To Christmas" programming.  The movie, titled "Three Wiser Men And A Boy", will see Tyler Hynes, Andrew Walker, and Paul Campbell reprise their roles as the Brenner brothers (Taylor, Luke, and Stephen) from the first movie. In addition, Margaret Collin will reprise her role as their mother Barbara from the first movie. The movie was co-written by Campbell, Kimberly Sustad (who had a cameo appearance in the first movie) and Russel Hainline.     The official summary for the movie, set five years after the first movie is as follows: "In a crazy turn of events, possibly brought on  accidentally by the brothers themselves, the director of Luke's son Thomas' (Miles Marthaller) school holiday musical steps down. Luke is desperate to to make his son&

"The Way Home" Season Two Finale Delivers One Shocking Twist And Hints At Another

Image
When we began season two of "The Way Home" back on January 21, we saw a little boy and an old woman standing next to the Landry farm pond. At the time, we assumed the boy was Jacob Landry, the younger brother of Kat Landry who disappeared in 1999. Well, the season two finale, titled "Bring Me To Life", revealed that this wasn't actually the case because the boy we saw in the season premiere wasn't actually Jacob bus his father Colton, with the woman being his grandmother. However, this wasn't even the biggest twist in the season finale involving Colton. If you watched the season premiere, you'll probably remember that during the Landry family's 1999 summer cookout and barbecue, Kat thinks she hears someone in the bushes. While the season finale reveals this to be the present day versions of Alice and Elliot, having gone back in time to give Elliot a chance to get the goodbye with Colton he never had, it's also revealed that someone
