AI Will Never Duplicate These Emotionally Powerful Hallmark Channel Moments
Elizabeth Thornton finding out that her husband Jack has died on "When Calls The Heart". Phoebe Amidon being reunited with her mother at the end of "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Impossible Dream". Kat Landry realizing that she was responsible for her father's death on "The Way Home". These are just some of the many emotionally powerful moments that Hallmark Channel has given us over the years-and the reason they were able to make us feel the way they did is because they were written and performed by real people. Erin Krakow (Elizabeth), Megan Charpentier (Phoebe) and Chyler Leigh (Kat) are all real people who easily gave their best performances from their respective roles in these scenes. The people responsible for writing these scenes (Brian Bird, Michael Landon Jr. and Elizabeth Stewart on "When Calls The Heart"; Martha Williamson and Brandi Harkonen on "Signed, Sealed, Delivered"; and Tally Knoll, Marly Reed and Heather Conkie on "The Way Home") are real people who no doubt spent countless hours coming up with the best way to put these moments on paper. Which is why I feel that, as fans, we must support both the Writers Guild Association (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) in the fight against the excessive use of AI in both writing and acting. Because while AI might be able to duplicate an actor's words and looks, it will never be able to duplicate the raw emotional performance that they give.
