A "Jacks And Shawl" Streaming Guide

Image
Today, July 26, 2023, marks two years since the official Hallmark Channel podcast, The Bubbly Sesh, ended its run after two years. For those who were not around between 2019 and 2021, The Bubbly Sesh was hosted by two New York City based actresses (and two of the most wonderful people you will ever meet) named Jacklyn Collier and Shawlini Manjunath-Holbrook. The two even got to appear in a 2019 Hallmark Channel Fall Harvest movie, "Love, Fall And Order".  To celebrate the two year anniversary of the Bubbly Sesh's series finale, I am going to post a list of media featuring Jacks and Shawl that is currently available for streaming. Titles will be listed in chronological order with streaming availability in parentheses. Top 10 "When Calls The Heart" Episodes

With the Season 10 premiere of the hit Hallmark Channel series "When Calls The Heart" now just ten days away, I thought I would rank the Top Ten episodes in series history. Like with my previous rankings, each episode's rating was derived by multiplying its rating on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) by its average viewers per one million. 1. All Of Andrea Brooks' Hallmark Movies Ranked

This Friday July 21 at 9 PM ET, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will have the world television premiere of "A Lifelong Love". To celebrate the premiere, I have decided to rank all of the previous Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries films of its lead actress, Andrea Brooks. Each movie's rating was derived using the same formula from my previous rankings; that is, each movie's rating on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) was multiplied by its average viewers per one million.     Author's Note: This list does not include any of the "When Calls The Heart" holiday films, as those are considered part of the series. 1. Jingle Around The Clock Premiere Date: December 22, 2018 My Rating: 22.11 IMDB Summary: "Elle's plans for Christmas are thwarted by work. In order to get a career-altering promotion, she's forced to team up with advertising campaign fixer Max, who has a completely different take on the holidays." 2. K

How Much Would It Cost For These Networks And Studios To Pay Their Employees A Living Wage?

Unless you have spent the last two months living under a rock, you are no doubt aware of the ongoing strikes with the Writers Guild Association (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). Both companies are in a dispute with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) over revenue from streaming residuals, among other things.     The AMPTP represent over 350 American film and television companies, but this article focuses on five major studios (ViacomCBS, Sony, Universal, Walt Disney and Warner Brothers) and three major streaming services (Amazon, Apple TV+ and Netflix) and how much it would cost each of these companies to pay their employees a living wage, i.e. the minimum wage necessary for an average employee to live off of without having to rely on either government assistance or a second job. To figure this out, I first had to determine where each company's primary headquarters was located. N

Why This One Scene From "Take Me Back For Christmas" Hit Home For Me

Tonight, Hallmark Channel had the world television premiere of "Take Me Back For Christmas". The film , which stars Vanessa Lengies and Corey Sevier, is about a woman named Renee (Lengies) who after being given a Christmas bell by a mysterious woman named Cici (Kimberly-Ann Truong), wishes for her life to be different. She wakes up the next morning to find out that she is no longer married to her husband, Aaron (Sevier), that she is the CEO of her own company-and, most shocking of all, that her mother, Maria (Paula Boudreau) who had passed away a while back of an unspecified illness, is suddenly alive again.      As the film progresses, Renee tries to find a way to get her and Aaron back together.     She and Aaron start to bond over their shared love of cooking and ice hockey. It looks like her plan to get back together with Aaron is going to work-until she learns that she has unwittingly agreed to move to London to take over her company's new European office.

AI Will Never Duplicate These Emotionally Powerful Hallmark Channel Moments

Elizabeth Thornton finding out that her husband Jack has died on "When Calls The Heart". Phoebe Amidon being reunited with her mother at the end of "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Impossible Dream". Kat Landry realizing that she was responsible for her father's death on "The Way Home". These are just some of the many emotionally powerful moments that Hallmark Channel has given us over the years-and the reason they were able to make us feel the way they did is because they were written and performed by real people. Erin Krakow (Elizabeth), Megan Charpentier (Phoebe) and Chyler Leigh (Kat) are all real people who easily gave their best performances from their respective roles in these scenes. The people responsible for writing these scenes (Brian Bird, Michael Landon Jr. and Elizabeth Stewart on "When Calls The Heart"; Martha Williamson and Brandi Harkonen on "Signed, Sealed, Delivered"; and Tally Knoll, Marly Reed and Heather Co

SAG-AFTRA Set To Go On Strike on Friday

Today, the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) voted to begin striking tomorrow at 12:00 midnight PDT (3:00 AM EDT). The strike, along with the ongoing Writers Guild Association (WGA) strike, is over a dispute with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) over residuals from streaming services as well as the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in both screenwriting and acting, among other issues. I will post a link to the official SAG-AFTRA strike website, which should explain everything you need to know about the strike, below.  https://www.sagaftrastrike.org/ Sources https://www.theverge.com/2023/7/13/23794224/sag-aftra-actors-strike-ai-image-rights https://www.reuters.com/world/us/hollywood-actors-union-sets-strike-vote-thursday-talks-break-down-2023-07-13/ https://deadline.com/2023/07/actors-strike-contract-talks-fail-sag-aftra-to-launch-pickets-1235436031/ https://deadline.com/2023/07/actors-strike-sag

Addressing Hallmark Channel's "Blind" Spot

Yesterday, it was announced that Sarah Drew ("Christmas In Vienna", "One Summer") would be portraying the titular character in an upcoming Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film "Guiding Emily". The movie, which is set to premiere on Friday September 8 at 9/8 Central, revolves around the titular Emily, who becomes blind following a rock-climbing accident. While Hallmark Channel has made tremendous strides when it comes to representation in the disabled community (For example, "The Christmas Bow" features a disabled character named Tess, played by real life Charcot-Marie-Tooth patient Joy Perry, and movies like "Our Christmas Journey" and "Color My World With Love" feature autistic actors and actors with Down Syndrome in prominent roles), one area that the network is still lagging behind in when it comes to authentic representation in the disabled community is blind or visually impaired actors. By my count, Emily will be at
