 During Thursday December 21st's episode of "Jeopardy", the third of three semifinal games in the most recent edition of the Second Chance Tournament,  one of the categories was titled "A Very Hallmark Christmas Movie". To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time that Hallmark Channel has been featured as a Jeopardy category. The episode's contestants (Michael Vaz, Karen Morris and Iris Masucci) would combined to correctly answer four of the five questions, missing only the $1,000 clue. (When playing along at home, I only missed the $800). Iris would go on to win the game by exactly one dollar ($5,400) over Karen ($5,3999) and advance to tonight's Second Chance Tournament Finals.  Below is a clip from Jeopardy's "A Very Hallmark Christmas Movie" Category from the official Jeopardy YouTube page. 

 If you have been watching Hallmark Channel, and more specifically the Countdown To Christmas programming, over the past two years, you may have noticed something peculiar about some of the movies. Mainly, the fact that they reference other Hallmark Channel movies.     It started with 2022's "Haul Out The Holly", in which Emily (Lacey Chabert) is seen watching "Christmas In Vienna", which stars Brennan Elliott. (Elliott and Chabert have appeared together in nine movies that have premiered on either Hallmark Channel or Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. They are, in order of release, All Of My Heart; A Christmas Melody; All Of My Heart: Inn Love; All Of My Heart: The Wedding; Crossword Mysteries: A Puzzle To Die For; Crossword Mysteries: Proposing Murder; Crossword Mysteries: Abracadaver; Crossword  Mysteries: Terminal Descent and Crossword Mysteries: Riddle Me Dead.)     This trend has continued so far in 2023 with two Countdown To Christmas films.  Today, Hallmark Channel announced the premiere date for the second season of its hit series, "The Way Home". According to Deadline.com, the second season will premiere at 9 PM EST on January 21. Season two will continue where season one left off, with the Landry women Kat (Chyler Leigh), Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) and Del (Andie McDowell) continuing to search for Jacob, who in the season one finale ,was revealed to have gone back in time to 1814.  Today, September 19, Hallmark Channel released the schedule for its 2023 "Countdown To Christmas" programming. This year's schedule will feature 31 movies airing between Friday October 20 and Sunday December 17. With the exception of three nights of double features on Thanksgiving weekend, all movies will premiere at 8 PM ET. (The three double features will premiere at 6 PM and 8 PM ET, respectively). These are just some of the many emotionally powerful moments that Hallmark Channel has given us over the years-and the reason they were able to make us feel the way they did is because they were written and performed by real people.  Yesterday, it was announced that Sarah Drew ("Christmas In Vienna", "One Summer") would be portraying the titular character in an upcoming Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film "Guiding Emily". The movie, which is set to premiere on Friday September 8 at 9/8 Central, revolves around the titular Emily, who becomes blind following a rock-climbing accident. While Hallmark Channel has made tremendous strides when it comes to representation in the disabled community (For example, "The Christmas Bow" features a disabled character named Tess, played by real life Charcot-Marie-Tooth patient Joy Perry, and movies like "Our Christmas Journey" and "Color My World With Love" feature autistic actors and actors with Down Syndrome in prominent roles), one area that the network is still lagging behind in when it comes to authentic representation in the disabled community is blind or visually impaired actors.
